WHEATLEY Hill fighter Gary Reay suffered ABA Championship heartache.
The 22-year-old he lost his Under 60 kilo final at York Hall, Bethnal Green.

Facing Darlington's Martin Stead, representing the Army, the East Durham ABC fighter held the edge for most of last night's final, leading 2-1, 6-5 and 8-7 after the first three rounds.

But Stead sneaked the last by a 3-2 margin to snatch victory 10-9.
There was joy though on Wearside as Little & Large duo, Adam Whitfield (U51kg) and Warren Baister (U91kg) won their finals.

Nineteen-year-old Whitfield, boxing for the Army, was too skilful for Stockbridge ABC's Anthony Smith, winning 11-6.

Heavyweight star Baister (Sunderland ABC) easily saw off Royal Navy's Joe Harvey 17-3.
