DAVID Dolan is bracing himself for the mother of all ring wars when he makes his cruiserweight debut tonight.
The Neil Fannan star faces deadly Brazilian fighter Elvecio Sobral at the Everton Park Leisure Centre in Liverpool.

It will be Dolan's opening fight in the division he hopes will bring him championship glory – six years after he struck Commonweath Games gold further up the M62 in Manchester.

But before the 28-year-old can dream of domestic title battles, he must see off the slugger from Sao Paulo.

Sobral has lost only once in nine fights and, incredibly, all EIGHT of his wins have come by way of knock-out.

"I've fought and beat punchers before," said Dolan.

"David Haye can dig a bit and I've sparred with him before, so you learn how to deal with the big hitters. And that's by not standing there in front of them.

"His record shows he's a puncher but let's see what he like when we get into the ring."
