MEN are being challenged to improve their health through a series of challenges.
In the run up to National Men's Health Week, the Men's Health Forum is calling for action. The week of action runs from Monday, June 15, to Sunday, June 21.
More than 100,000 men die prematurely in England and Wales every year. That equates to one ma
n every five minutes dying before the age of 75.
The Men's Health Challenges seek to raise awareness of key health issues and provide practical ways for men to take action to address them.
From simple measures such as ordering a soft drink at the pub, and walking to work, to getting your blood pressure checked and finding a mate to help you stop smoking, the Men's Health Forum will be challenging men to take action.
Peter Baker, the chief executive at the Men's Health Forum, said: "National Men's Health Week offers an opportunity for us to raise awareness of the state of men's health in the UK; and the lack of gender-specific healthcare available to suit men's needs.
"We hope that our Men's Health Challenges will serve to highlight some of the simple ways in which men can make a positive impact on their health and lifestyle."
