THE day with destiny is finally here.
The day when Chris Cordner gets on the scales and is weighed for the first time since he began his exercise regime at the health and fitness centre Springs.

But is it good or bad news? Read on.

CHRIS I'Anson gave me a wry smile
.

He was busy writing down a series of results after taking my measurements.

Chris is my personal trainer at Springs and the man who has driven me hard. He has encouraged me to swap kebabs and chips for bananas and apples.

I think it's been worth it. I feel fitter.

But the tape and the scales don't lie and I was about to find out how well I had done. It's a bit off-putting when the man who has put me through hours of hard work keeps looking at me and grinning.

"Are you ready for this?" said Chris as he completed the paperwork.

"Don't know," I replied. The butterflies were setting in.

What if I hadn't followed the diet properly? What if all my exercising wasn't enough? What if I hadn't worked hard enough at it?

"I'll be happy to have lost a couple of pounds." I said.

Please let it be good news, I said to myself.

Then he turned the piece of paper round.

RESULT! Hallelujah! Get in!

I am officially skinnier than I was last month.

Yes folks, Chris Cordner in May is a leaner, meaner version than the fatty who spilled all over the scales a month ago.

In fact, I am a full nine pounds skinnier and it's not just the weigh machine which proves the difference.

Hips, waist, chest, thighs - they all showed improvements. My waist has lost two and a half inches in a month!

I was gobsmacked. I was struggling to think what to say. I had only met Chris a month ago.

The first week consisted of me making charts on my dietary habit.
It meant I had lost nine pounds in three weeks. I was losing three pounds a week!

"You're the one who has put the work in. You're the one who is feeling the benefits. And it's going to get better still," said Chris.
So anyone want to know my results in full?

No? Tough. I'm telling the whole world and I'm shouting it from the rooftops.

So here goes.

If I can do it, so can other people. So take my advice. Get down the gym.

And a month from now, chances are you're in for one of the best days of your life when the results come back.
