DANNY Wilson today threw down the gauntlet to Hartlepool United youngster David Foley – insisting the hard work has only just begun.
The Pools boss handed Foley a new contract at Victoria Park last week after his previous deal with the club expired at the end of the season.

Foley was confined to the fringes of the first-team last season, with Wilson usually opting to use the pacy 20-year-old as an impact substitute.
The winger impressed in the final game of the season at Walsall, but too often during the campaign caused frustration when his promising runs petered out without a final ball.
That is something Wilson will look to work on with Foley as he tries to become a regular in the starting 11.
Wilson said: "There are a lots of areas that David still needs to work on, but he has got fantastic energy and great pace.
"His biggest challenge is putting the finishing touches to the moves he start. If he can get everything together he will be a fantastic player for us.
"He gets into fantastic positions but he has not got that consistent
end product.
"He has got a fantastic attitude though and is always looking to learn
and ready to do everything we ask of him in training and on the pitch.
We have got him on board to work with him on that."
A section of the Victoria Park faithful have become particularly frustrated by Foley's lack of a consistent final ball.
But Wilson has urged supporters to remember that Foley is still relatively young and advised his young winger to concentrate on his own game rather than any taunts from the crowd.
Wilson said: "People do forget that he is only 20 years old, but he is in there on merit and he will be as frustrated as anybody else when he does not put that final ball in.
"He can't let people in the crowd affect him and hopefully he can progress."
Foley was used both out wide and as a central striker last season and Wilson said he will not narrow his choices by confining him to just one position.
"He can play as a winger or down the middle and he can do both well," said Wilson.
"Every time we have asked him to play in certain positions, he has never let us down."
Meanwhile, released Pools full-back Ali Gibb has agreed a one-year deal with Conference South side Bath City.
Gibb's contract at Victoria Park officially comes to an end next week but the 32-year-old has been on his way out of the club since going out on loan to Notts County in January.
The versatile right-sider arrived at Pools on a free transfer in July 2006 and made 16 starts under Danny Wilson.
