HARTLEPOOL United were taken to the cleaners by Championship news boys Leeds United in a Victoria Park rout.
Luciano Becchio (2), Robert Snodgrass, Bradley Johnson and Jonathan Howson hit the goals for the side Pools drew 2-2 with on the same pitch earlier this year.
Leeds, humbled 4-0 at Bury in midweek, were under pressure for a response.
And they needed less than five minutes to go in front, Becchio's 50-50 challenge with Scott Flinders saw the ball run loose and Snodgrass rolled his shot into the empty net.
Pools attempted to get Antony Sweeney through from midfield two minutes later before trialist Paul Murray tried his luck from 30 yards, his shot going high over the top.
Leeds won their first corner in the 12th minute and it needed some good defensive work from Joe Gamble and Murray to clear the danger.
New PA man Phil Dunn's announcement that the bar was open under the Camerons Mill House stand raised a cheer from the Leeds fans, who were occupying those seats.
And the hordes of supporters who headed for the bar missed two away goals.
Becchio had an easy header from Lloyd Sam's cross five minutes before the break and in injury time, Jonathan Howson had an age to deliver his cross and Bradley Johnson planted his header home from eight yards.
Boos from the Expamet Town End greeted referee Dave Webb's half-time whistle, which was no surprise.
There was some bright play after the re-start, Brown making a positive run though his daisy-cutter shot did not match his approach play.
It was almost 4-0 on 52 minutes with Flinders and Evan Horwood saving the day for Pools. Flinders made a fine stop from Johnson's powerful shot but the ball ran loose for Snodgrass who looked certain to score only for Horwood to make a superb block.
But a fourth duly followed, Howson hitting home a first-time left-foot shot in via the post after a silky four-man move.
Pools did come close to an equaliser when sub Gary Liddle's header from Fabian Yantorno's corner struck Shane Higgs' crossbar.
But it was only a temporary respite for Pools, as Leeds went back to tearing the hosts apart.
Leeds had a glut of chances and goal number five came via Becchio's head as he put in Snodgrass's cross from the right.
Thankfully, Leeds boss removed the Argentinian at that point to save Pools from further damage.
