Pool star will welcome new additions

SAM Collins believes the addition of a handful of new players can inspire Hartlepool United to new heights.
Pools boss Danny Wilson is looking to bring in three or four fresh faces during the summer in a bid to give Pools an injection of quality needed to challenge the League One top six.
Collins, who was Wilson's solitary permanent signing during the January transfer window, said Pools are craving players who have performed consistently in the division.
He added that an influx of new signings can only benefit the existing players, who will want to make an impression with their new team-mates.
Collins said: "There will definitely be changes in the summer so if we can bring four or five new players in, it is good.
"It is always healthy to bring new players in. I know when I joined the gaffer said maybe the fans might have been looking for a flair player up front but he wanted to bring someone in to solidify things a little bit.
"It freshens up the squad having a new face in there.
"It inspires you a little bit because you want to impress whoever you are playing with. Whenever I have known a new player come in, I have thought come on then."
He added: "We want that bit of quality with players who have been about it and know what it is about.
"I know sometimes a manager will take a punt on a young lad from a Premiership club and you never know, there might be one of them as well."
Wilson will look to increase competition throughout the side in the summer, but one area where he doesn't look likely to strengthen is in central defence.
Ben Clark, Sam Collins and out-of-contract Michael Nelson provide a wealth of options and Wilson decided to use all three against Nottingham Forest last Saturday, with Clark deployed in a defensive midfield role.
Collins said: "We want dilemmas all over the pitch and that's what he is trying to get for next season.
"There are three good centre-halves here and we can push Ben into midfield because I thought he did well there on Saturday.
"I can remember playing against him a couple of times for Port Vale when he played there and he can do that no problem."
Two players who don't look likely to be making their way to Victoria Park are Neale McDermott and Tom Craddock.
McDermott had a trial at Pools last month and enjoyed a couple of outings for the reserves.
He was released by parent club Carlisle United earlier this month and is currently training with Pools.
But Pools boss Wilson is not thought to be interested in signing the 23-year-old.
Meanwhile, Middlesbrough striker Craddock spent a month on-loan at the Vic where he made four appearances and infamously missed a penalty at Tranmere Rovers.
The 21-year-old, who is out of contract in the summer, is thought to have been offered a new one-year deal at the Riverside.
Pools reserves take on Nottingham Forest today in the semi-final of the Pontin's Holiday League play-offs, at Billingham Town's Bedford Terrace ground (kick-off 2pm).
