Ritchie's rally call for new season

RITCHIE Humphreys wants Hartlepool United to turn back the clock next season.
The Pools captain took four awards at last week's Player of the Year evening, including Player of the Century.
Humphreys also added the Away Player of the Year trophy, despite there not being much to shout about on the road this season.
Pools only managed four wins from their 23 away games, and only four sides conceded more goals on their travels.
It was a far cry from the successful League Two campaign last year, when Pools showed a lot more steel on the road and picked up 12 victories.
Humphreys said: "We have got to take our game from last year into this division.
"Sometimes the games were rubbish and the pitches were rubbish, but we were winning 1-0.
"It's a step up in the division and to be able to mirror last season, we need to step up to the plate.
"It's a winning business. You might not be the most entertaining team, but if you keep winning you will get to the right end of the table and everybody is happy.
"We try to play and we have been a good home side again this season, although there have been a handful of disappointing performances against lesser teams.
"But on an overall view, you can see what we have got to do to improve.
"We have got to be more consistent away from home, grinding out draws or nicking wins."
Undoubtedly the most memorable away performance of the season was the 4-2 victory at Leyton Orient back in September when Pools completely outplayed old boy Adam Boyd and his then top-of-the-table team-mates.
Humphreys said those types of victories are all too rare in League One and Pools need to revert back to those scrappy victories from League Two.
He said: "You are not always going to get the game like at Leyton Orient when we passed them off the park and got four goals.
"That doesn't happen against the better teams, so in those areas we have got to knuckle down. We have stepped up a division where we were doing it last season."
