A little poem about the smoke ban

I'M WRITING in about the litter and shops, so I've made this little verse:
Since they introduced the No Smoking ban
Things have got really worse,
Walking round our town centre.
It just doesn't seem right.
People having to huddle in shop doorways
Is not a pretty sight.
If they have to smoke outside
They should have as
htrays and a hut.
I wish I had a pound
For every discarded cigarette butt.
And there's litter strewn everywhere,
Even though there are laws to abide.
With Coke cans and pizza boxes
It seems no-one has any pride,
And walking round the shopping centre
It's looking really bare.
Gone are the good old days
When we had Blackett's, Binns and Mothercare.
If you want to buy a phone or a card,
A pie, or just spend a pound
You won't have a problem.
There's plenty of those shops around.
The Early Learning Centre and Alvin's coffee bar
Have already closed their door.
Who will be next to close I wonder?
Could it be your own shop or store.
I'm glad I've got my bus pass.
Middlesbrough has plenty to sell.
But now they are taking off some of the buses.
They might take the Middlesbrough one off as well!!
