AS I'm sure you are aware, my family and I have received an extraordinary amount of publicity concerning our problems with the schools' admissions system in Hartlepool.
I would like to point out that at no point have we made a negative reference to St Hild's or any other school for that matter.
While we are sure St Hild's offers a service of which they can be proud, our argument against sending Rebecca there has
never been about the quality of education she would receive.
Our main concern is that she would have to travel an unacceptable distance, covered by two bus journeys, starting at an unreasonable time of the day just to get there, whereas, the school nearest to us, which also happens to be our first choice, is within walking distance.
We are appealing against the decision to not offer a position at three schools, and not just our preferred school.
If Rebecca can be offered a position at either English Martyrs or High Tunstall, we would be happy to accept either.
Our stance concerning transfer of guardianship will be an option should all three appeals fail to secure a place, not just a position at Manor.
I appreciate that the media has presented headlines which are attention grabbing. But the reality is not quite the shocking story one might think it is.

Hartlepo
