WAITING for a bus at Rossmere stop, going to the shopping centre, there were two girls and a young man waiting with two dogs – a Staffordshire and an Akita dog about one-year-old.
While I was waiting, the Akita was growling at me.

The girl was trying to control the dog. It had a choker chain and extension lead.

The dog was not used to bus travel and was very nervous.

The bus driver allowed the two dogs on the bus.

On getting on the bus I sat on the seat for old people at the front.

The girl with the Akita stood near the folding seat in front of me.

The dog was very nervous and looked at young and old people boarding and disembarking the bus.

Every person had to pass the dog. I was very worried for young families and babies in prams.

The bus was packed and everyone who passed the dog looked worried.

I would like to know how a dog can put so many people in fear?

I always believe in safety first. If the dogs went daft, one at the front and one at the back, the driver would not be able to do anything.

One of these type of dogs attacked a little girl (Mail, August 21).

What do readers think about this situation?

As an old bus driver I would not let dogs on.

Hartlepool.
