WHAT the hell is happening to Seaton Carew?
Not only is it the town tip, soon to be dumping ground for contaminates world wide, we now read in the Hartlepool Mail (July 9) that there are ambitious plans to knock down the Staincliffe Hotel and, if the artist's impression is correct, replace it with another carbuncle on the sea front.

We have eyesores (sorry, landfills) north and south end, Sheds 'R' Us (sorry bars/restaurants) seaward side and now this proposal.

One of the few remaining focal points of Seaton Carew is about to be removed along with the history associated with this building and the link with the beautiful old houses next to it.

I urge the planning department to please give serious consideration to what is happening to Seaton Carew.

A Pearson,
Seaton Carew.
