I WISH to express my sincere thanks to everyone who voted for me in the recent Rossmere by-election.
I feel the increased majority was testimony to the hard work undertaken throughout the campaign by myself and loyal supporters of the Labour Party.

The overall result also demonstrates that there is no place for any minority party in Rossmere or t
he wider community.

A special vote of thanks must be given to my election agent and partner, Stephen, who worked tirelessly throughout.

In what is viewed as a difficult time nationally, I feel the resounding vote I was given endorsed the Labour party's work at grass roots level within the community.

I have a strong commitment to the local community and will endeavour to be a hard-working community councillor for Rossmere who is visible, accountable and accessible all year round and not just at election time.

I wish to work with residents and focus on issues that are vital to every family: better schools, safer cleaner streets, more facilities for children and young people, more green spaces, reliable rubbish collection and recycling, as well as health and social care services that really care.

Councillor Christopher Akers-Belcher,
Rossmere Ward,
Hartlepool.
