WHEN will Hartlepool Council ever get it right?

Who in their right mind would increase the price of something that is not selling.

I am referring to their decision to increase town centre parking charges to offset the loss, owing to a lack of visitors.

What we need to attract more visitors to the town is something more than empty shops and empty units in what was once a thriving indoor market, which apparently has slowly emptied because the stall holders could not afford to keep up with the rent and rate rises.

Would it not make sense to ask for less charges and make some money from occupied stalls, instead of nothing at all from a market that resembles a ghost town.

This also applies to the rest of the shops as well.

Surely there must be someone from the council that has either a B or C grade in common sense. Obviously there is none with an A.

Mr G P Goodwin,
Northwold Close,
Hartlepoo
