THE FATE of the French aircraft carrier was finalised in the appeal courts on November 13 in London.

I am pleased that the decision went in favour of Able UK. If it had not then I would have feared for the sake of this town.

I was worried that in future any company would have to apply to Messrs Kennedy and Ryder for permission to approach the council for either planning permission or to open any type of business in this town, subject to their approval.

It is quite obvious that these two people have not seen this town in a deep depression as we had 40 or 50 years ago. I have, and it was not a very nice place to live in.

I have watched this town grow, but to carry on we still need employment and to get this we need the likes of Able UK, unless Messrs Kennedy and Ryder are going to finance the local council to keep the taxes down to a minimum.

Farndale Road,
Seaton Carew
