IN reply to Mr Kitching's letter regarding cycling (Tuesday, August 19), I would ask him to read its contents again regarding the inconsideration of some cyclists.
I did not mention all cyclists were a danger, I said the young and some adults gave no consideration to pedestrians.

As a pedestrian and by the way I can give you quite a few years in age Mr Kitching, I object to being assaulted from the rear by a cyclist, which happened to me and like you, that was the reason for my letter to the Mail.

As a cyclist you can avoid the obstacles you see in front of you and take the necessary precautions to circumnavigate objects and pedestrians such as myself, who are not given the privilege of dodging and being tail-gated from behind.

Fred Gibbon,
Masefield Road,
Hartlepool.
