IN REPLY to the letter of Owen Robinson (Mail, September 2), yes the council has just spent £54.000 to refurbish the Ward Jackson Park toilets and guess what?
On Monday morning, September 1, the ladies' toilets, which are vandal proof and took four months to refurbish, were unusable as they were blocked and waiting for a plumber!!

On Sunday evening I walked through the park and there was a load of children, boys and girls, having a great time in the ladies' toilets.

I was told by a council employee that these toilets are cleaned three times a day.

But on our inspection the floor was soaking and the babies' changing unit was dirty.

On Monday morning the path in the park was littered with used condoms.

So it's a case again of badly behaved children and yobs doing what they want and the genuine people having to suffer.

Mrs V Nicholson,
The Parade,
Grange Road,
Hartlepool.
