SO THE plans are to be submitted for a new hospital at Wynyard. Why?
I can find nobody who thinks this is a good idea.
A new hospital yes but not miles from anywhere.
Although I expect the staff who are sharing their time between Hartlepool and North Tees think it's a great idea.!
Will they guarantee a big enough free car park, near to the hospital not miles away, with adequate security?
If they don't think parking will be a problem then they should check the expensive fiasco at James Cook and surrounding streets. North Tees is not much better.
Can they guarantee a cheap bus service with regular services to all areas of the hospital catchment area without a big surcharge on the council tax?
Where I live in Stockton the buses stop at 6pm and the taxi fare to the proposed site would be about £15 return!
No chance of visiting without a car.
Geoff Maud,
Stockton.
