IS JONATHAN Brash serious?!
The front page article (Mail, August 22) concerning the removal of Brierton and Dyke House schools from Ed Balls' list of "poor performers" has Coun Brash planning to post the very good examination results to Mr Balls and saying: "The threat to these schools shouldn't have been there in the first place. I hope the measures threatened will now be rescinded with immediate effect".

How could this man front the Way Forward document advocating the closure of both Hart and Elwick primary schools, two excellent schools with no question about their performance?

Surely the threat should never have been there in the first place.

I hope the measures threatened will now be rescinded with immediate effect.

Coun Hilary Thompson,
Elwick Parish Council,
The Green,
Elwick,
Hartlepool.
