GHOSTLY noises and inexplicable bangs made one family's life a misery for weeks.
Sabrina Fallon was so tormented by an evil spirit haunting her home that she had to call in an exorcist to drive the sinister presence out.

Emma Greenhalgh met her - and found out how the exorcism has made a remarkable difference.

SABRINA FALLON loves her ghost-free home.

But back in December the mum-of-two was so convinced there was a poltergeist in her house she demanded her local council do something about it.

The family recently hit the headlines when the council stumped up half the cost, £60, of an exorcism.

Sabrina said: "I feel like we can start living life again."
The 23-year-old, of Basingstoke Road, in Peterlee, said she first noticed something was up in early December.

"It started with banging in the loft which we thought was pigeons or rats.

"It was a really loud footsteps but we could hear mumbling and whispering and I thought it could be somebody in next door neighbour's loft."

Sabrina recalls how she first heard the noise at 11.30pm but when it happened again at 5.30am she called the police thinking that there were intruders.

"The police went upstairs and had a look in the loft and checked the tiles on the roof.

"One officer said 'have you ever thought that you had a ghost?"

Sabrina, who has two daughters Amie, one, and Shannon, nine, said: "I have never believed in ghosts until now. I have always been a sceptic."

But Sabrina was soon convinced when she saw the ghost of alittle girl sitting on the stairs.

"She was six or seven years old but she looked like she was from the olden days," she said.

"She was crying. I sat next to her and said to her, what's wrong?' but she just kept her head down," she added.

After a weekend away the family returned to their nightmare on Monday, December 17.

Sabrina, who is married to Martin Fallon, 24, who is currently unemployed, said: "I heard a bang upstairs and I shouted up to Martin to stop banging because Amie was asleep but it turned out that he had gone to the shops.

"My bedroom door was shut and I always leave it open.

"I opened it and it came swinging back in my face.

"I thought 'I have got to get Amie out.' I tried to open Amie's door and it was like it was jammed."

Sabrina, who is a housewife, said she was later able to get the door open but Amie's room had gone icy cold despite the fact that she had the heating on.

She said: "Her room was like ice. It was like a fridge but the heating was on."

Sabrina believes the spirit of a man who had murdered and then killed himself was haunting her home.

She said: "You knew he (the ghost] was going to start when the temperature dropped."

It was then that Sabrina decided to take action.

She got in touch with medium Suzanne Hadwin and Sabrina said she was amazed she knew about the little girl at the top of the stair without ever having visited the house.

Suzanne tried to neutralize the energy in the house but the spirits remained strong and Sabrina says that, days later, the ghost attempted to take her daughter from her arms.

"I was coming down the stairs and Martin came down before me and I heard a gasp and I thought 'who was that?'

"The air went cold. I went down the next step and I felt somebody pulling Amie over my shoulder. It was really strong."

She added: "He grabbed hold of my shoulder leaving red marks.

"That was the first time that my husband believed me."

The experience shook Sabrina up so much that she went to the District of Easington council and asked for help.

"I was shaking and frantic," she said.

And she was so terrified to go upstairs the whole family slept in the lounge for a week.

When Suzanne came to the house she tried to persuade the ghost to leave.

The psychic sprinkled water over the room to bless it and lit incense.
"It was like a ritual," said Sabrina.

Sabrina explained that Suzanne brought angels into the house to rid it of evil.

But a full exorcism was necessary and that happened on December 27.
"Everyone was told to stand in a circle of salt.

"The room was like walking into a fridge."

This time Sabrina said that she could hear everything that was being said between the medium and the ghost.

"He was saying to me to tell Suzanne to get out of the house. He said that she was spoiling things. It was a man's voice," she said.

The ghost was then called to the circle while Suzanne sprinkled holy water, lit a candle read from a book.

"When he was in the circle it was icy cold. I was shaking but in the corner a light caught my eye and I saw a dark shadow go to the wall and vanish and then the room was red hot."

After the ordeal which had lasted for weeks, the nightmare was over within minutes, said Sabrina.

"After all I had gone through in the past few weeks, in an hour it was over. I felt so relieved."
