DELIGHTED Elle Sullivan is the cream of the crop after dancing her way to a double triumph.
The 11-year-old has landed two prestigious titles in a matter of weeks and she’s hoping more will follow soon.
Elle, from Hartlepool and who practises with Nadine’s Academy of Dance based in Thomlinson Road, Hartlepool, first won the modern section of the Durham County Championships junior category in Chester-le-Street, in February.
Then, she landed the modern title in the NCBTA North-East Championships held at Jarrow within weeks.
Proud mum Dawn Purvis, 33, who also has a seven-year-old son Sol Sullivan who attends St Theresa’s Primary School in Hartlepool, said: “Elle has been dancing since she was 18 months.
“She was up against 80 other people in each of the competitions she entered so she has done really well.”
Dawn, who was there to watch her daughter’s recent triumphs, said: “It is a long day because you are there from morning to night.
“Everyone dances and then there is the re-dance, the semi final and the final.”
The results of the finalist performers are announced in reverse order. Dawn added: “It means they announce sixth first and so on, so it builds up.
“When they said Elle had won, she was over the moon, completely overwhelmed.
“But normally she takes it all in her stride. She loves ballet and modern particularly but she does love all types of dance.”
Elle trains five days a week and is looking forward to taking part in the Nadine’s Academy of Dance production of Shine Bright Like A Diamond next week.
She is also due to compete in championships at the Southlands Centre in Middlesbrough during the Whit bank holiday.
