ATTRACTIONS in Hartlepool will play their part in a forthcoming festival celebrating the North East.
The first-ever Festival of the North East runs throughout June across the whole of the region.
Artists, musicians, theatres, galleries, museums, church halls and community centres will all host a programme of events.
Hartlepool is playing its part with a William Gray Shipyards Exhibition at Hartlepool Central Library between May 16 and June 6.
The fascinating exhibition marks the 50th anniversary of the closure of Gray’s shipyard in Hartlepool.
And people can explore the story of shipbuilding in Hartlepool at a pop-up exhibition aboard the PSS Wingfield Castle at Hartlepool Maritime Experience.
The exhibition is free and runs from May 31–July 6 between 10am and 5pm.
Both events are part of a programme entitled Riveting Stuff.
The festival was the idea of musician Kathryn Tickell.
