Chances to dance

A DANCE school teacher is extending her classes to bring sessions to even more people.

Jade Cook runs the On Your Toes dance school in Hartlepool which is now offering sessions from Mondays to Thursdays and on Saturdays.

She said: “My school has expanded and is now offering classes in both Milbank Road and on the Headland. Both areas are deprived of activities for children living nearby to participate in.

“I am really proud to be able offer some sort of activity for them to engage in, especially as it is something I am so passionate about and dedicated to.”

Jade runs team practice for advance dancers at the Horsley Buildings, in Darlington Street on the Headland, on Mondays from 5pm to 6pm.

On Tuesdays, she teaches beginners at St Oswald’s Church Hall, in Milbank Road, from 5pm to 6pm.

Beginners are once again the focus on Wednesdays but this time at the Horsley Buildings from 5pm to 6pm.

Advance freestyle sessions are held at the Horsley Buildings on Thursdays from 5pm to 6pm.

On Saturdays, three different sessions are hosted by Jade at the Horsley Buildings.

Acro dance lasts for an hour from 12.30pm.

The same venue also hosts a toddlers class from 1.30pm to 2pm while classes are also planned for people preparing for dance competitions. They take place from 2pm.

Jade added: “Sometimes there is nothing for the children to do and I want to change that. I want to offer them something which is both physical activity and something they can enjoy as a hobby.”
