TALENTED Hartlepool singer Lewis Laking is to stage a concert to help send him to America.
Lewis, 20, is trying to raise £10,000 sponsorship in order to take up a scholarship at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA) in Los Angeles.
As part of his efforts he has organised a concert at Hartlepool Old Boys Rugby Club’s Mayfield Park, Easington Road.
It takes place on Friday, February 17.
Lewis, a former judge of the Mail’s Hartlepool’s Got Talent competition, hopes to study a four-year course in musical theatre.
He hopes it will help him achieve his ambition of performing on the West End stage.
Lewis said: “The evening will be a variety style show with myself, songs from the shows like Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera, We Will Rock You as well as modern greats from Elvis, Billy Joel, The Beatles to Micheal Buble and Take That.”
The show starts at 7.30pm and there will also be raffle and bingo.
Tickets are £4 for adults and £2 for children and are available on the door or in advance on 07511189751.
