MUSIC fans are being urged to buy their tickets for a popular town band’s 20th anniversary concert to avoid disappointment as it heads for a sell-out.
Tickets are selling fast for Hartlepool group The White Negroes 20th Anniversary Concert at 3 Lions Sports Bar, in Hartlepool, on Saturday, August 27.
The band performed their now infamous first show at the exact same venue – then known as The Ritz – back in August 1991 and return for a special show.
And as a special thank you to their fans who have followed them over the last two decades admission will be the same price as the gig in 1991 – just £2 a ticket.
Owner of the Park Road-based bar, Paul Kerr, said: “The £2 ticket price has really gone down well with the band’s fans and tickets are selling really fast.
“At the rate they are selling the gig looks like it is heading for a complete sell-out.
“So we are urging fans to snap up their tickets to avoid missing out on what I am sure will be the gig of the year.”
Tickets are on sale now only from 3 Lions Sports Bar, Park Road, Hartlepool every day in the downstairs cafe between 9am and 2pm and upstairs in the bar on the evening.
Very special guests will be another legendary Hartlepool outfit 23rd Spiral Sound System who performed alongside The White Negroes at that very first show.
