A COUPLE from Hartlepool have been praised for their generosity after making a donation to a charity hundreds of miles away.
Pauline and Stan Robson, who are pensioners from the Owton Manor area, have generously sponsored Sussex Caring Pets therapy dog Beryl.
The chocolate Labrador visits youngsters in a children’s hospital and cancer centre in Brighton.
Graham Bourgoing, chair of Sussex Caring Pets, said: “We have been amazed at the generosity of this couple from Hartlepool who wanted to sponsor one of our dogs.
“Without the help of people like Mr and Mrs Robson we could not provide our animal assisted therapy service to those who benefit from the simple affection and stimulation offered by one of our SCP therapy dogs or cats, whether its in hospitals, hospices, care homes or special needs schools.
“We are very grateful for their generosity.”
Sussex Caring Pets, which is staffed by a team of volunteers, has about 70 dogs and two cats.
