A COMEDIENNE and television star who battled cancer and has faced other health battles has signed up for Hartlepool Hospice’s Moonlight Walk - and is now urging others to follow her lead.
Crissy Rock underwent a health MOT on BBC’s Long Live Britain on Monday night and discovered she had type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol and an echo in her heart which could lead to a fatal heart attack or stroke.
The former Benidorm star is now set on changing her ways and has registered to take part in the this year’s event on Saturday, September 7.
Crissy said: “After Monday’s show I’m feeling great and wanting to back this event all the way and I hope that many more will join me.
“The hospice is a special place and deserves our support.”
Town media man Paul ‘Goffy’ Gough is also backing the event for the hospice, which cared for his late sister Angela and more recently his close friend Willie Wright.
The Moonlight Walk is around five and a half miles long, although a shorter route is also available. Everyone taking part will receive a medal, T-shirt and hot supper.
