IT’LL be quackers down at the marina when a charity fundraiser takes place later this summer.

TFM Radio’s Cash for Kids event will come to Hartlepool on Saturday, August 6, with the popular duck race set to be the main attraction.

A total of 5,000 eye-catching plastic ducks will be placed into the water and the owner of the first toy past the finish line could land a luxury holiday, courtesy of Co-op Travel.

To take part in the race, which is part of a family funday at the marina where TFM will be broadcasting from the Wingfield Castle, participants can buy a certificate containing a unique for their duck.

TFM’s crew will then release the ducks into the water, with the main prize going to the person whose unique number matches the one printed onto the duck.

TFM’s Drivetime presenter Antony Collins said: “We can’t wait for the duck race.

“We all love Hartlepool and the marina and we are all keeping our fingers crossed that the weather smiles on us.

“The main aim is to raise as much money as we can for Cash for Kids, and we’ll be having plenty of fun at the same time.”

Certificates are available from the Mail reception in Wesley Square, Hartlepool, priced at £5 each.

All proceeds go to the Cash for Kids charity, which helps underprivileged youngsters across the Tees Valley.
