etc’s mother, baby and toddler exhibition 2013 is the first free baby event brought to you by the luxury lifestyle magazine.
It’s a place expectant mothers, parents and grandparents can shop for goods, seek professional advice or simply have fun with the family.
The event which will take place this weekend, on Sunday July, 21, at Lumley Castle, in Chester le Street, from 12-4pm, is sponsored by Metro Radio and Northumbrian Water’s Love Your Drain campaign.
etc’s Marie Westmoreland said: “The idea came about after seeing how successful our etc wedding shows are – and as it seems the next step for newlyweds is to have children, like my best friend and her husband who are expecting their first child, I thought ‘wouldn’t it be great to have an event where you can find out all you need to know about parenthood and, of course, buy goods in time for that new arrival? And voila, etc’s mother, baby and toddler exhibition was born.”
Some of the finest retailers in the region will be attending, meaning you can shop for everything from children’s clothing to bespoke baby artwork, and also seek birthing advice and weigh-up child care options.
Yoga demonstrations for mums and birthing advice are just some things planned for the event, and children can watch a creepy critters demonstration by reptile experts and meet Iggle Piggle, Winnie the Pooh and Martin the Monkey.
Gifts in the free goodie bags include top brands such as Tommee Tippee and Tomy and each bag will include one of the following: a Tomy Pooh ‘n’ Friends Bath Squirter, a Boon bath toy or a Lamaze rattle which are suitable from birth.
Goodie bags will be handed out on a first-come, first-served basis.
In addition top prizes will also be up for grabs including; gift vouchers for www.crankybunny.com; an Early Learning Light and Wobble toy; a family pass to Mini and Maxi Moo’s Adventure Land; and a huge Martin the Monkey teddy bear courtesy of Costco.
You can also enter your child in Northeast Press’s 2013 Cute Kids Competition.
It is free to enter and it’s open to children aged newborn to five years old.
Why not bring your child along and have a professional photograph taken? This, along with a completed entry form, is all you need to enter. Entry forms will be available on the day.
Pictures taken will appear in your local newspaper where you can vote for your child to be crowned the 2013 Cute Kids winner.
