FOUR talented dancers are step closer to their dreams after being accepted at some of the UK’s top performing arts academies.
And there’s one common denominator linking the quartet – they are all from the same Hartlepool school of dance.
Well done to Phoebe Hartshorne, Katie Gofton and Stephanie Roberts, all 16, as well as 18-year-old Stephanie Williams who have learned their skills so far at the Val Armstrong School of Performing Arts.
Katie, Phoebe and Stephanie Roberts have been offered scholarships at Tiffany’s Stage School based in Clacton-on-Sea in Essex.
It was established in 1969 and is one of the most successful dance and performing arts schools in Essex, offering training in forms of dance from ballet to tap and from jazz to Irish dancing.
Stephanie Williams has been offered a place at Laine Theatre Arts in Epsom in Kent and is waiting to hear about a scholarship place.
The Laine academy is recognised as being one of the leading international training colleges for performing arts.
Phoebe, Stephanie Roberts and Katie have also been offered places in other performing arts schools.
Val Armstrong is principal of the Val Armstrong School of Performing Arts based in Whitby Street South in Hartlepool.
She was delighted at the success of the fab four and added: “All the girls impressed a selective panel with their ballet, jazz and singing.
“One college in particular commented on the high standard of work coming from the school.
“I am extremely proud of my girls and I wish them every success in their future training.
“It is yet another amazing achievement for the school with so much more to come in the future.”
