Finding your spiritual talent

THE spiritual world holds mystery and intrigue.

But for medium Angela Atkinson, making a connection with the dead is a gift she says she was born with.

Now Angela has decided to share her wisdom with curious members of the public including the Mail's EMMA GREENHALGH.

Emma found out more as she tried her hand at tarot reading.

ANGELA definitely had a challenge on her hands with me.

I would not call myself a sceptic as such.

But when it comes to the after world I like to sit firmly on the fence.

Having said that, like many women, I head straight for the stars page when flicking through a magazine.

So when the opportunity came up to try my hand at tarot card reading, I thought I would give it a go. Angela, 45, welcomed me into her shop, Serendipity, in Northgate, on Hartlepool's Headland, which sells soaps, jewellery and candles.

She asked me to cut the tarot card pack into three.

Then, as instructed, I hovered my hand over the cards and Angela said I should feel a tingling sensation or heat which would draw me to one – which strangely worked.

Having selected the cards that should forecast my future, Angela honed in on the queen of cups, which she said revealed characteristics such as a hard exterior but a softer centre.

I thought fair enough.

Angela, married to Brian, 48, started grouping the cards and making some more specific observations the accuracy of which, without delving too deep into my past, did impress me.

Now 27-years-old, Angela predicted that I would have two children.

The mother-of-three said I would be taking on a new role professionally in the next six months, with a marketing aspect – better not tell the boss!

A date to look out for she said was July 10.

But by the end of July, I should be on a three-day trip to Ireland – I admit I have always fancied seeing Dublin but never been.

Angela said a friend, possibly called Jane, was going to have a whirlwind romance that would end with a fancy dress engagement party, with a winter theme.

She said: "I feel as if they know each other already but it's going to take off. You are going to have to wear, for example, ear muffs even though it's the middle of spring."

I stopped Angela before she delved into my love life and agreed to come back for a personal reading – this was interesting stuff and I can't wait to see if it comes true.

The mum of Claire, 28, Keith, 26 and Vikki, 22, is running a total of 23 courses, either one-day or two-day long, beginning in March.

The workshops, during the day and evening, aim to find out each individual's spiritual talent.

They cover awareness and channeling of guardian angels and spirit guides, mediumship, crystals, rune stones, past lives and psychometry, which is reading energy from objects such as photos.

Anyone wishing to have a go can contact Angela for more information on (01429) 281283.
