A LAWN tennis club is looking to boost its numbers as it serves up summer sessions.
Last year, Hartlepool Lawn Tennis Club had more than 130 juniors attending sessions, and organisers hope to build on that figure in the coming months.
They have also added some women only and mixed adult beginner and improver sessions this year to cater for even more players.
Tom Rayner, from the club, said: “Midweek junior sessions are filling up fast. However, plenty of spaces are currently available on the Saturday morning sessions.”
He added that the Granville Avenue based club is also “investing in the future” with both clubhouse and courts being refurbished this year.
The junior sessions (for those aged seven to 18 years old) take place from 4pm-5pm and 5pm-6pm on Wednesdays and Fridays and 10.30am-noon on Saturdays.
Women’s beginner and improver sessions take place on Wednesdays from 6.30pm–7.30pm.
Adult beginner and improver sessions run from 6pm-7pm on Wednesdays and noon-1pm on Saturdays.
The cost of the sessions is £3 per visit, or is included in membership fees.
