THE top water acrobats from all over the country will descend on Hartlepool marina this weekend for a national competition.
The Freestyle National Tour and Flyboard Championships will be held at the town’s Jackson Dock on Saturday.
People are encouraged to go along to watch spectacular freestyle tricks being performed on the water with jetskis.
The marina will also host the country’s first ever national flyboarding contest on the day.
Flyboarding involves being strapped by the feet to two water jets which blast the person in and out of the water.
Adam Henderson, of Hartlepool Marina, said: “The Freestyle National Tour goes around the country and Hartlepool has always been a prominent part of the tour.
“It is like a double barrel spectacle this year with the flyboarding element with a lot more going on on the water.
“It is an open arms policy and everyone is welcome whether watching or competing.”
The flyboarding heats start at 12.30pm and the freestyle jetskis takes place from 5.30pm.
A panel of judges will decide the winners. The day’s finale will feature a spectacular display fom Hartlepool champion jetskier Jason Bleasdale.
