Pedalling your way to fitness

A PROJECT to improve the health of Hartlepool men will start its latest series of sessions tomorrow.

The Men’s Begin 2 campaign run by the sports development team at Hartlepool Borough Council aims to deliver programmes which get men into physical activity.

Male participation rates in Hartlepool in sport are lower than the national average.

But researchers have found that most men would like to be more active.

It has led to a series of sessions titled Men’s Begin 2 and so far include running, gym and indoor fitness.

A session for men to improve their fitness on bikes starts at the Mill House Leisure Centre tomorrow to music.

An instructor will guide volunteers through warm ups, sprints, climbs and cool downs.

The sessions will run for six weeks, costing £15 for the full six-week programme.
