HUNDREDS of women took advantage of a Christmas shopping extravaganza inside a church hall.
St Patrick’s Church hall, in Owton Manor Lane, Hartlepool, hosted the event for ladies and organisers laid on a host of stalls selling gifts for the festive season.
Organisers say around 200 women came along to support the event.
There was cake stalls and stalls selling handbags, scarves, jewellery, cards, painted items and gifts.
There was also a tombola and the event helped raise money for the church, with the final total still being totted up. Ann Parkinson, a member of the church, said: “The shopping extravaganza was such a lovely event.
“Over the course of the night we had about 200 people come through the door which was pleasing to see and we were happy with the turnout despite the cold weather.
“There was 21 stalls with plenty of choice for people looking for gifts.
“We wanted to try something a little bit different from the traditional fair and it was a success.
“I would like to thank everyone that helped and everyone that came along.”
Organisers are already looking to hold a similar type of event next year, although it may be held in November rather than December.
Visitors each paid £3 and that included mulled wine and mince pies.
