A CAKE decorating course is proving to be a tasty treat for sweet-toothed students.

The course, run by Hartlepool Adult Education and being held at Grange Road Resource Centre, gives people the chance to learn about a variety of cake decorating techniques.

People taking the class will learn about anything from the basics of covering cakes with fondant and creating colour palettes, through to more advanced stages like creating a two-tone rose.

Leisa Smith, the tutor for the class, said: “It’s going well, slowly but surely people are improving.

“A lot of people don’t realise quite what’s involved with cake decorating and how far it can go.

“We’ve got a few different types of cakes being made, and everyone is enjoying th course.”
