AN entrepreneur has told how hard graft has got her to the top.

Julie Stout, who runs Just Out Marketing, based in Castle Eden, is one of two finalists in the Hartlepool Mail-backed If we can, you can challenge.

It is just six months since she set up her firm and said: “Every day I visited companies across the North-East and sometimes worked until 11pm and sometimes on weekends.”

Within four months of forming her advertising and marketing agency, she topped most of the search engines relevant to her company.

After eight weeks, her firm was designing their first branding job for a company in Portrack Lane, in Stockton, called Oak World.

By the third month, more than a dozen businesses were on board, including high street retailers.

Just Out Marketing was getting noticed and Julie was invited to talk to business and marketing students at Sunderland University.

One student who attended the talk said Julie had the “drive, persistence and determination to succeed”.

Julie, from Peterlee, was formerly a media advertising executive.

Her decision to go it alone came after a freak accident

During an awards evening in London, she snapped the Achilles tendon in her leg while dancing, had to have an immediate operation, and used the time off work to think about what she really wanted to do.

She and Ian Jobling who owns Castle Eden-based Product Revolution are the two remaining contestants in the If we can, you can challenge.
