Laughs galore for comedy fans

IT’S a big month for Teesside comedy fans with some of the top names in the industry on the way.

Hartlepool, Stockton and Middlesbrough all have important events in April and we’ve got the details.

Closest to home is the Hot Potato Comedy Club, at the Town Hall Theatre, in Raby Road, Hartlepool, on Saturday, April 23. Doors open at 7.15pm with the show starting at 8pm.

The show features Steve Shanyaski, James Cook and a guest to be announced. Tickets cost £5 on the early bird scheme which is available up to a week in advance. After that, they cost £8 or £7 with concessions and more details are available from the theatre box office on (01429) 890000.

The Big Mouth Comedy Club gets together on Saturday, April 2, at the Town Hall Crypt, in Middlesbrough. It features Simon Evans, Carey Marx and Matt Reed as the master of ceremonies. Doors open at 7.15pm with the show starting an hour later.

Another Middlesbrough show on the way is comedienne Sarah Millican performing at the Town Hall on Friday, April 8. But it is already a sellout.

And in Stockton, the Catch 22 Comedy Club meets on Friday, April 15, at the ARC, with Andrew Ryan, Peter Otway and Danny McLoughlin in the line-up.

Tickets are selling fast for Jimmy Carr’s Laughter Therapy show on the same night at Middlesbrough Town Hall. Doors open at 7.30pm with the show starting at 8pm and tickets costing £25. More details are available from the box office on (01642) 729729.

The fun continues on Friday, April 22, at the Town Hall Crypt in Middlesbrough where Milton Jones performs from 8pm. Tickets are £15 and more details are available from the box office on (01642) 729729.

Stockton’s Catch 22 Comedy Club meets on Friday, April 29, at the Arc in Stockton with doors opening at 7.45pm and the show starting at 8.15pm. Tickets are £9 or £11 for a reserved front row space. Sam Avery, Danny McLoughlin and a guest to be announced are all on the line-up.
