LOVE was in the air at a weekend wedding fair.
The Hartlepool Mail Wedding Exhibition was held at the Town Hall Theatre, in Raby Road, yesterday and organisers say there was a steady stream of lovebirds getting ideas for their big day.
As well as 18 exhibitors showing what they have to offer, there was also a catwalk display on the afternoon courtesy of Destiny Bridal, in Middlesbrough.
Event organiser Angie Whitfield said: “The wedding exhibition was a big success and there was a steady stream of people coming through the door throughout the day.
“We had a catwalk show and there was plenty of advice and ideas to help people plan their big day.”
There was also a tombola, which included a framed landscape photograph of the Headland courtesy of Kane Young Photography, which raised £75 towards an appeal to buy a new walker for Taylor Page Higgs, who suffers from cerebral palsy.
As previously reported, town woman Julie Elvin is fundraising to buy a specially-designed walker for her granddaughter Taylor, now eight, who is now living in Anglesey, North Wales.
Julie, 48, and daughter Jemma Boocock, 28, have previously raised money for Taylor’s former school, Springwell School, in Wiltshire Way, as a way of saying thank you to the school and now the pair are raising money for the youngster direct with the aim of raising £2,000.
Organisers say there are still some prizes left and tickets, which cost £1 for a strip of five, are on sale now in the Mail’s reception, in Wesley Square, Hartlepool.
