Have your say

THANKS to Eric Lambert of Villiers Street, Hartlepool, for informing us that the picture (Memory Lane, December 8) was not Morison Hall in Church Close.

Apparently Morison Hall is similar but the frontage is not correct.

The hall had a different facade with a raised central entrance with steps at the front.

Eric did not recognise this building but would be interested to know where it is.

Regarding the Edgar Phillips picture in Middleton Grange shopping centre, Eric went on to say that it is now occupied by Super Cigs.

The unit nextdoor to the unit on the right was the Wallpaper Store on the corner now occupied by Rayner’s opticians.

On another note, Eric poses the following question.

The picture published recently of the New Fleece in Northgate at the start of demolition shows a Chinese takeaway adjacent to the pub.

Prior to the takeaway, a very well known Hartlepool business started from this shop in 1960.

Eric asked if any Memory Lane readers can remember it.
