AN EX-PAT will be among old schoolpals catching up with each other’s lives when a reunion is held later this month.

Alan ‘Taffy’ Turner and Bruce Marshall are organising a gathering for Brierton School’s Class of 1975.

The pair, along with Regan Nash, arranged a similar get-together in 2009 for the yeargroup, in the year the classmates turned 50.

Now, another reunion is planned.

It will take place at The Woodcutter pub, in Kingsley Avenue, Hartlepool, on Sunday, August 25, which is the Bank Holiday weekend, from 6pm-11pm and admission will be £3 on the door.

Among those who have promised to show their faces are Terry Harrison, who has been living in South Africa for 30 years.

Bruce said: “I’m hoping to get some ex-teachers to attend again and this will also be attended by Terry Harrison who has been living and working in South Africa since the early 1980s, I’ve never seen him since we left Brierton school.”

Bruce, who attended a school reunion in 2002 and 2003, said Alan, who runs Alan’s Discotech, will be providing the music of the 1970s to make for another enjoyable night.

“We have more than 40 people already confirmed to attend the night,” he added.

“We are hoping that will increase. There’s quite a few people we have not heard from since leaving school as to where they’ve gone or what they’ve done with their lives. We are hoping people will see this and spread the word.”
