A GET-TOGETHER proved to be a hit with former school friends.
Former classmates Tracy Lamplough-Cosgrave, Lee Dees and Justine Parrott rallied together to organise a reunion for anyone who left the former Brinkburn Comprehensive School in 1987 before it closed.
The get-together came after the pals attended a number of funerals for people they went to school with, including that of Colin Horner.
Colin, 39, died on November 11, last year after suffering a massive heart attack during a game of football with his work-mates at the town’s Mill House Leisure Centre.
The year group was the last to attend the school before it was taken over by Hartlepool Sixth Form College, and before other parts of it became Eldon Grove Primary School.
Lee, 39, who is a director of MKM Building Supplies in Burn Road, said: “Around 55 people turned up which made for a great night of gossiping.
“It was great to catch up with former school friends who haven’t seen each other for 24 years since we left school.
“Some people haven’t changed a bit, Everybody mixed and had a laugh, it really made for a great night.”
Lee, who is dad to Morgan, seven, and three-year-old Hattie, added: “Everybody was asking when the next one is planned, which is around June 2012.
“Also a big thank you to Tracy Lamplough-Cosgrave and Justine Parrott for helping me put it together, and must mention DJ Stuart Allison, also a former pupil, who helped compere for the night.”
The reunion took place at Stranton Social Club in Waldon Street, Hartlepool.
