A MUCH-LOVED town charity is set to benefit from a school reunion.
A get-together is being organised for anyone who left Hartlepool’s former Henry Smith School in 1993.
Leanne Thomson, whose maiden name is Burgon, is helping to organise the event.
It will take place at Hartlepool Rugby Club, in Easington Road, from 7pm on Saturday, November 8.
There will be a £5 charge on the door, with all proceeds going to Hartlepool and District Hospice, in Wells Avenue, where Leanne works.
Leanne, a mum-of-two from the West View area of town, said: “The room upstairs in the rugby club is booked for our reunion.
“We hope as many people as possible can make it.
“It will be great to catch up with everyone.
“I’m hoping to get a few teachers to attend.
“I’m hoping we can get a disco which will only charge a small fee so can raise more funds.”
Leanne is asking her former schoolmates to dig out their old school photos so they can be shared on the night “for a good giggle”.
A Facebook page called ‘School reunion for year 1993’ has been set up for ex-pupils to give updates and make suggestions about the event.
On Facebook alone, 40 people have confirmed they are attending, and Leanne says she hopes through word of mouth and the Mail more people will hear about it and get along on the night.
Those who have said they will be attending include Chris Andrews, Karen Robinson, Tracy Cochrane, Andrew Parkes, Chris Bradley, Leanne Boagey, Angela Taylor Dowd, Lynsey Conning, Vicky Pearson, Lindsey Thornhill, Paul Robinson and Claire Dodgson.
