Have your say

WITH reference to Expanded Metal, that was my first job when I left school and when I first met Marlene Spence.

The boys on the photo (inset) fixing the mesh, well, when we worked there the mesh was on a roll and we would cut it into lengths.

It was so cold we would try and get warm off the pot belly stoves that were there.

We would all sit around on our tea breaks.

I am sending you this photo that was taken in the yard.

Marlene and Emily Hays are at the back on the left. I am in front of Marlene and the girl next to me is Joyce (?).

As you see in the photo, if your hair was curly it stayed curly.
