Looking for long-lost sister

A WOMAN has enlisted the help of Together Again in a quest to find her long-lost sister.

Parveen Bashir, who was previously known as Kathleen Greig, is looking for her sister Mary Darling Potts.

Parveen, who left Hartlepool around 50 years ago and now lives in the Handsworth area of Birmingham, lost contact with Mary around 15 years ago.

The 64-year-old, who was renamed Parveen Bashir after marrying the late Mohammed, said: “I phoned up the council to see if she was on the electoral roll but they couldn’t really help.

“They said her last known address was Carr Street but because of Data Protection they couldn’t tell me if she was still living there.”

Mary was from Kathleen’s mother Mary’s previous relationship and her maiden name was Flounders.

Parveen, who has three sons, eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, added that Mary married a Laurence Potts and had a son called Tony and a daughter called Linda.

She said Mary previously lived in the town’s Raby Gardens and the sisters grew up in Blake Street.

If Mary recognises herself, or if anyone else can help, they can contact Parveen on 07905487772.
