Have your say

YOUR photograph of Sister Irving (Memory Lane, October 18) brought back so many memories.

All of my six children were born in Grantully, between July 1966 and December 1972.

My husband still jokes that they closed the old place down when I stopped having babies.

I have nothing but good memories of the old place.

The matron, Sister Sterling, Sister Irving (not Irwin), and all the nursing staff were caring women who looked after us and our babies.

I used to call my times in there my annual holidays.

I’m a nana eight times over now and still remember with affection my times in Grantully.
