Have your say

Steelworks have played a part in Hartlepool life for decades. Today, we look at photos from times gone by.

One shows a battery of 26 coke ovens being lit at the south works of the South Durham Steel and Iron Co Ltd, at Greatham. Does anyone know the year of the photograph.

A second is from the south works blast furnace and shows George Davidson, Tommy Flounders, Selby Wannley, Frankie Johnson - but which year.

In our third photograph, the casting and forging process at the South Durham Steel and Iron Co is shown but who are the people in the picture.

And lastly, who can tell us more about the preparation of railway tracks cut out at the Greatham South Durham Steelworks site.
