A MUM-OF-THREE wants to show off her transformation from a size 22 to a size 12 during a school reunion she is organising.
Sam Woolston (nee Lawson) says her years at English Martyrs School, in Hartlepool, “weren’t the happiest times” – she weighed between 14st to 15st and tipped the scales at 16st by the time she had left school, in 1995.
But later, when her children started school, her weight ballooned to 22st and she found herself having difficulty breathing, she knew it was time to change.
Ten years of healthy eating and exercise later – Sam, 34, who now manages the health and fitness department at Belle Vue Community and Sports Centre – weighs 10st 5lb and she wants to show off the “new me” at her school reunion.
Sam said: “It’s 18 years since we left school. My old classmates have never seen me since the weight loss, I want to have one night to get together and show them what I look like. I want to tell them what I do for a living instead of being the same old Sam at school.”
Sam, who managed to lose three stone after having her son Ashton Woolston, two, and is also mum to Sharna Kelly, 13, and Jaydon Kelly, 10, added: “It would mean the world to me to have a fantastic catch-up and get to know what everyone has been up to. I would also like a few teachers to turn up, like Miss Clemont-Lee, Mr Relton and Mr Rutter.”
The reunion for English Martyrs Class of 1995 will take place from 7pm on Friday, September 13 at Belle Vue Social Club, in Kendal Road. Admission is £3. For more details call Sam on 07814597180.
