All the fun of the fifties is the focus of these mystery photos.

Veteran cyclists at a rally, a Punch and Judy show and a Headland Walking Race are among the images featured.

A cracking shot of Stranton Girls Guides cooking sausages on a camp fire during a rather chilly Hartlepool summer is also shown.

“These are all yet more gems from the Mail’s glass plate archive collection,” said archivist Susan Swinney.

“Sadly, as usual, I only have minimal details. They were all taken in the 1950s - but that’s about all I know.

“If readers could help me put names to faces and places, or provide exact dates, I would very much appreciate their help.”
