HUNDREDS of festive fundraisers are expected to take a bracing dip in the North Sea on Boxing Day for a host of good causes.
Almost 200 people have signed up so far to take part in Hartlepool Round Table’s Boxing Day Dip at Seaton Carew with that figure set to double by December 26.
And supporters of little George Carr, who has cystic fibrosis, will once again race into the sea at Crimdon beach.
Hartlepool Round Table are asking people to register for the Seaton dip in advance through their website which is now up and running.
Dip organiser Allan Wise said: “We are expecting 400 people this year which would be great as it would be an increase on last year.
“We have had a lot of interest through our Facebook and website.
“It was a fantastic event last year and hopefully this year is going to be even better.
“We are trying to raise as much money as possible for individual charities.”
Last year’s event raised at least £25,000 for all sorts of worthy causes.
The parade moves off from the Staincliffe Hotel at 11.30am while the Crimdon dip is at 10am on the beach.
It is £5 for the Seaton dip and you can register at www.boxingday/dip.org
